About the Role

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining, reprogramming and differentiating human stem cells in various conditions, including protocol optimization, scale-up, process development, and functional assays

  • Solve complex problems to contribute to the crucial development of our science

  • Execute experiments and guide the other team members on various cell and molecular biology methods.

  • Collaborate internally, and present data to the team and management

  • Write SOPs and protocols

  • Responsibility for lab inventory management


Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Ph.D. Degree in stem cell biology. M.Sc. with relevant industry experience (at least 3 years) will also be considered

  • Hands-on experience and expertise with iPSC culture and maintenance, preferably hiPSCs

  • Expertise in the execution and development of in-vitro differentiation of iPSCs,preferably to neural cell types

  • Molecular biology skills including mammalian cell DNA/RNA extraction - desired

  • Proven ability to independently lead scientific projects: design, execute, troubleshoot and analyze experiments, interpret results, and communicate them to management and team

  • Precise documentation of procedures and results

  • Strong communication and data management skills

  • Experience with automation platforms is a plus

  • Knowledge of lab management platforms (e.g., Quartzy) is a plus

  • Demonstrated excellence in planning, executing, and analyzing experiments.

  • Critical thinking and independence, ability to troubleshoot, solve difficult problems,and develop process and/or assay improvements

  • Attention to detail and careful record-keeping

  • Adaptability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment requiring occasional weekend work

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects
